SSAT Test Prep

The SSAT Test Prep course is an essential step to help students in grades 3-11 to pass the SSAT admissions test to get placement into private independent schools. For more information about the SSAT test, visit here.

The SSAT Test Prep course is taught by highly-qualified and experienced teachers. It familiarizes students with the SSAT test directions, helps students understand the types of questions on the SSAT exam, and teaches necessary skills for SSAT success in the quantitative (Math), verbal, reading, and writing sections. We work to lower testing anxiety and to improve test-taking ability.

The SSAT Middle Level Reading Prep program will help students in grades 3-7 to improve their English reading comprehension ability in preparation for taking the SSAT admissions test.

In the SSAT Middle Level Reading Prep program, our reading tutors will coach students on how to recognize the main idea, locate details, make inferences, derive the meaning of a word or phrase from its context, determine the author's purpose, attitude and tone, understand and evaluate opinions/arguments, and make predictions based on information in the passage. The covered reading materials will include literary fiction, humanities (biography, art, poetry), science (anthropology, astronomy, medicine), social studies (history, sociology, economics).

The SSAT Middle Level Quantitative (Math) Prep program will help students in grades 3-7 to improve their quantitative (math) skills in preparation for the SSAT admissions test.

In the SSAT Middle Level Quantitative (Math) Prep program, students will be given lots of math practice questions in number sense, numeration, measurement, patterning, data management, probability, exponents, proportional reasoning, expressions and equations, linear relations, properties of slope, equations and graphs, geometry, etc. These practice questions are similar to real SSAT questions. The tutor will then review the questions and answers with the students and explain the math concepts and problem solving techniques.

From the program, the students will learn how to interpret questions and explore test-taking strategies, and they will improve their math problem solving ability and logical thinking ability.

The SSAT Middle Level Verbal Section Prep program will help students in grades 3-7 to improve their English vocabulary, verbal reasoning, and ability to relate ideas logically - important skills to get better scores in the verbal section of the SSAT admissions test.

In the SSAT Middle Level Verbal Section Prep program, students will be given many practice questions to help them identify synonyms and to interpret analogies. The synonyms and analogies practice questions are similar to SSAT real-test synonyms and analogies questions. If the students have issues understanding the vocabulary or verbal reasoning behind these questions, or if the students need tips and techniques on how to improve their vocabulary and verbal reasoning ability, they can also schedule online classes with our tutors to get the help.

The SSAT Creative Writing Prep program will help students in grades 5-11 to write better creative stories when taking the SSAT admissions test.

In the SSAT Creative Writing Prep program, students will be asked to write creative stories and their writings will be evaluated by highly-qualified and experienced teachers. The teacher will then review his/her feedback with the students in an online one-on-one class.

Students taking SSAT Middle Level Test are required to write creative stories only. Students taking SSAT Upper Level Test have the choice between creative writing and essay writing. The SSAT Creative Writing Prep program can help students taking either middle level or upper level SSAT tests.
