Scratch for Kids

Start to "scratch" for fun in the summer of 2020! Created by MIT, "Scratch" is an open-source programming platform for young students to create stories, games, and animations. Learning "Scratch" through our "Scratch for Kids" curriculum is an excellent and fun extracurricular opportunity for kids to learn coding in general, and to learn Scratch coding in particular, and perhaps more importantly, to develop problem solving skills. This course uses a very hands-on approach with lots of doing, lots of exercises and a minimum of theory. In this course, we teach kids Scratch programming by guiding them to think logically, designing projects and communicating ideas using stackable blocks of code. The one-on-one option of this class has flexible schedule as requested by the students; the group class schedule is 8:30pm EST (5:30pm PST) every Tuesday.
