SSAT Test Prep

The SSAT Elementary Level Prep program will help students in grades 3-4 to prepare for the SSAT Elementary level test. It includes preparation in 4 areas:

Creative Writing will help students write better creative stories based on picture prompts.

Verbal Section Prep will help students improve their English vocabulary, verbal reasoning, and ability to relate ideas logically. Students will be given many practice questions to help them identify synonyms and to interpret analogies. If the students have issues understanding the vocabulary or verbal reasoning behind these questions, or if the students need tips and techniques on how to improve their vocabulary and verbal reasoning ability, our tutors will help them in the online classes.

Reading Prep will help students improve their English reading comprehension ability. Our reading tutors will coach students on how to recognize the main idea, locate details, make inferences, derive the meaning of a word or phrase from its context, determine the author's purpose, attitude and tone, understand and evaluate opinions/arguments, and make predictions based on information in the passage.

Quantitative (Math) Prep will help students improve their quantitative (math) skills. students will be given lots of math practice questions in number sense, numeration, measurement, patterning, data management, probability, exponents, proportional reasoning, expressions and equations, linear relations, properties of slope, equations and graphs, geometry, etc. These practice questions are similar to real SSAT questions. The tutor will then review the questions and answers with the students and explain the math concepts and problem solving techniques.

From the program, the students will not only learn the writing, reading, verbal and math skills, but will also learn how to interpret questions and explore test-taking strategies, and they will improve their problem solving ability as well as verbal and logical thinking ability.

The SSAT Middle Level Prep program will help students in grades 5-7 to prepare for the SSAT middle level test. It includes preparation in 4 areas:

The teacher will then review his/her feedback with the students in an online one-on-one class.

The synonyms and analogies practice questions are similar to SSAT real-test synonyms and analogies questions. The teacher will then review his/her feedback with the students in an online one-on-one class. Students taking SSAT Upper Level Test have the choice between creative writing and essay writing.
